Welcome! We are Daniel and Nina DeTerra, partners, owners, artists, and the creators of Mojo Mugs. Situated high in the alpine desert of the San Luis Valley in Colorado, we work to bring you fresh, original mug designs to brighten your day, and brighten our world.
Nina has a background in costume design, having worked as a costume designer for Cirque de Soliel and Cirque Dreams. Daniel, a former RN, has worked as a sculptor in the art bronze industry, a computer game animator, and illustrator.
We live amid astounding natural beauty, nestled between the mountains of the Sangre de Cristo range and its National Park, a vast tract of BLM land, and the Baca Wildlife Refuge, known for its elk herd (that wanders through our yard from time to time). We live in an owner-built home constructed of grain bins and other recycled materials, with our cat, Millie, and a vegetable garden that’s doing pretty well this year. Living can be harsh in this remote, dry, high-altitude environment, but the animal life, the spectacular views and designing great mugs make it well worth it.
We hope you enjoy looking at our designs, and of course, we hope you will buy one or two! Every day we’re adding more original designs, in a growing variety of styles and categories. We use programs like Photoshop, Midjourney, Canva and others, to develop the most beautiful and inspiring images we can. Bookmark us and keep coming back to see our new designs!
